Rowing

Rowing is a fantastic activity for everybody aged between 12 and 100.

Weir Wood Community Rowing Centre which opened in 2022 provides opportunities to row on a beautiful stretch of water to individuals, schools and the University of Sussex and Brighton who use Weir Wood as their base. With the Reservoir being so sheltered we row all year round. We welcome new members of all ages and abilities. No previous experience is required. We run regular Learn To Row courses.

We adopt the procedures and run policies of British Rowing the national governing body for the sport to ensure we provide a welcoming, safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Our staff are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding.

All members normally book the boats they use in advance so please let us know if you intend to come and have a look.

Experienced members can arrange to row outside of supervised sessions in their own time.
