Rowing at Weir Wood Reservoir

Rowing is a fantastic full-body workout and a peaceful way to connect with nature. At Weir Wood Reservoir, rowers of all ages and abilities can enjoy a beautiful, sheltered stretch of water, making it an ideal location for both beginners and experienced rowers. Whether you’re looking to try rowing for the first time, refine your technique, or train regularly, we have sessions to suit you.

Weir Wood Community Rowing Centre operate the rowing centre at Weir Wood Reservoir, providing rowing opportunities for individuals, schools, and university teams from the University of Sussex and Brighton. Thanks to the reservoir’s sheltered conditions, rowing is available all year round. WWCRC welcomes rowers from 12 years and above and no previous experience is required- experienced members can book boats and row outside of supervised sessions.

All members must book their boats in advance – please contact us if you’d like to visit and learn more.

Usual Session Times:

Tuesdays: 6:30 – 8:30am
Wednesdays: 9:30 – 11:30am & 3:00 – 5:00pm
Thursdays: 6:30 – 8:30pm
Saturdays: 7:30 – 9:30am
