Foiling & Winging

Existing Weir Wood Sailing Club members may foil, wing and windsurf free of charge until 1st April after which 2025/26 membership fees will become due.

This offer also applies to potential new members to Weir Wood.

Wingfoiling and windfoiling are exciting new sport having only been around since 2019. It was conceived on the shores of Maui and harnesses the power of the wind with the efficiency of a foil. You have the use of a hand held inflatable sail (called a wing) or windsurfer sail and a board with a hydrofoil to give you a sensation like no over as you fly over the water.

Weirwood reservoir is an ideal location to learn and hone your skills. The flat water conditions being perfect and allowing for rapid progression.

In order to learn wingfoiling there are two types of lesson offered wingsurf and wingfoiling.

Wingsurf and windsurf lessons are all about using the wing or sail. You will learn how to fly and control the wing on a non foiling board. This will allow you to sail cross wind and really develop you skills using the wing or sail as a power source. These can be group or individual lessons.

When you have developed your skills with the wing or sail you can then move to the foiling lessons. Here you get to combine the wing or sail and the foil for the ultimate sensation. These are done as individual lessons.

If you want to hone your skills and use Weirwood Reservoir for your own recreational winging and foiling then we also offer induction sessions to help you get started on your road to self launch sessions.
